Triple Crown

It has been quite a glorious weekend. I planted sunflower seeds and the Ireland Rugby team won the Triple Crown in the RBS Six Nations. For those that do not know - the Triple Crown is a title that is won when any one of Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales beat the other three teams. This year Ireland won it for the first time since 1985. It was a very good feeling. Makes coming second in the tournament a little easier to bear. As for Scotland, why did they leave it until they played Ireland to play their best game?

Still on rugby, whilst the Irish Rugby team celebrated, news of the death of one of the Irish Under-19 squad was announced. John McCall’s passing is the second tragedy to hit Ulster sport following the sudden death of GAA star Cormac McAnallen with a rare heart viral infection less than a month ago.

Well, now that the Six Nations is over that’s me finished with sport of any kind for another year! Yeah! Must go make pizza and enjoy my sport-free life. It’s knitting and gardening from here-on-in
