As you can see, I managed to finish stripey jumper no. 2. Very pleased with myself!

But that’s not what I want to talk about. I want to talk about weddings. In particular, Auntie D’s wedding. As a whole, our family hasn’t had too many weddings. My father is nearly doing better than all of S & M Byrne’s weans rolled together, having played groom 3 times. Only 4 of the 7 Byrne weans (one of which didn’t have a big family wedding) have tied the knot. Now Auntie D is getting wed and it seems like it is a huge deal.

I am looking forward to it but at the same time know that it will throw up problems for me aside from what to wear. I will be having some of the wedding guests stay at our house. This means that D and Me will have to pull our socks up and get the decorating finished. All those boxes of wooden floor that have been lying in the living room will have to become an actual floor. A hearth has to be created for the new fire that will be installed and the hole where the fire will be – tidied up. Many litres of paint will have to be throw around. It would be alright if we had the skills to do all these things but we don’t. Am I panicking? Argh! Yes!

We will survive, no doubt and wonder what all the fuss was about.

Now, I must go and reply to the wedding invitation I received while it is on my mind – I might forget otherwise!
