This is the entry in which I grovel and thank everybody for their gifts. And boy aren’t I glad to have my little blog to address everybody! It’s not like the olden days when we had to write letters of thanks (not that I did – ungrateful monster that I am).

So, ta very much for the Pixies T-Shirt, Pixies poster, the wads of cash, the cheese grater, the baking beans and the Converse All Stars.

Last night we went out for dinner, at the Countryman’s, as it was D’s mum’s birthday. Don’t bother with the cheesecake if you eat there – there wasn’t a whiff of cheese or flavour in the ‘butterscotch cheesecake’ I ate last night (not – that I bothered to finish it). It was, in fact, ‘whipped cream cake’. I don’t understand how they can get away with whipping cream, putting it on a biscuit base and calling it cheesecake.

Not long now until I go on my holiday! On our return we will have a day in London. So, now I have to figure out what kind of things we could do in a day. Any suggestions?
