Holiday Song

If you see me and I have a stupid grin on my face, it’s because I am going on holiday. Cyprus, for 2 weeks, at the very end of August.

I read in one of the local papers this week that Habitat had reopened in Belfast. This gave me the incentive for a trip to the big shops in Belfast (a twice yearly event!). Normally, Ballymena supplies me with all the shops I need – all high streets being identical these days. What it doesn’t provide me with is a decent art/craft supplies shop. The result of this shopping trip is that I have: very sore legs, a tankini, various tops, a CD rack, 2 lampshades, a huge graphite stick, funky foam and handles for a bag. A very successful trip!

I travelled to Belfast by train (dirty smelly old train). It arrived into Belfast late but I hadn’t really noticed as I was too busy knitting. The conductor raised a smile from everyone on board when apologising for the 33 minute delay, saying that it was due to, ‘the train over-heating, speed restrictions on the line and the unfortunately large number of Manchester United fans on the train’.
