The delivery man from Tesco arrived with our shopping just as the 6 O’Clock news started. I caught occasional glances of bands and Jarvis Cocker whilst carrying shopping bags into the house. What could be up that Jarvis Cocker was making an appearance in the headline story?
Turns out John Peel has died. I am sad.
We shared a birthday. I will always remember that – at Reading Festival on my 18th Birthday, Nirvana headlining and John Peel was compere.
