The Nightmare Before Christmas
I woke at 6.00am yesterday morning, no I was not over-excited because Santa had been to visit, no I was not eager to get all my presents unwrapped. I had been having a bad dream in which some Ray Mears type survival expert was trying to talk me into squishing a puppy to death so that we could eat it. In my dream we were all hungry, but try as I might I could not squish the puppy. I woke up in a panic and could not really get back to sleep. Yes, I am a dog lover!
I got loads of lovely presents for Christmas (thank you all). Also, we had a white Christmas! I did all the usual things such as eat too much and drink too much. I am hoping to repeat the experience today when I go to my Mum’s for dinner. I am currently baking a Chocolate Guinness Cake to take with me as pudding.
Now I can reveal just how busy I have been in the run up to Christmas. Last week I started knitting D a hat which turned out to be enormous, so I started knitting it again on Tuesday. It is quite hard knitting something in secret, many lunchbreaks were spent knitting. I eventually got it finished and wrapped on Christmas Eve and it is still too big!
Other items made were socks for the Elf in my life, socks for KB, hot water bottle cover for my Mum, potions and brownie/cookie mixes (some of which were in jars and some in bags for those people who would have to travel with them).
