Bees

Last weekend D and me went for a dander around Divis Mountain in Belfast – the views were great. I would recommend it, and it is a nice easy walk.

This weekend I was feeling a little tired and demotivated so we only went for a short walk along the cliff path at Cushendall. At some point in this trip I found the Digital Macro setting on the camera and started playing about with it, taking pictures of flowers and leaves. D decided it would be a good idea to try and get a picture of a bee, so the bee hunt began.

Of course there were plenty of bees about but they tend to move quite quickly and D just wasn’t getting the shots he wanted. “F***”, “B******”, and exasperated grunts were the sounds being muttered by my Beloved, whilst a series of out of focus shots of bees bums were taken. I had a go myself and took a lovely picture of a bee (luck, I guess).

D was eventually satisfied when we found a bee on a thistle that was so busy sucking up nectar that it didn’t move from the spot for ages.
