In between rain showers I have a life
Today would be a perfect day for sitting in front of the TV knitting. But I haven’t knit, due to shopping and cleaning the house (rather roughly). The sky overhead is grey and as a result my house is dull and dark inside, which makes everything look dirty even though I have cleaned.
I will content myself with the fact that I will be off work all of next week. Yay! One more week of torment and then off down to Dingle to visit the Kerry Relations! It will be fun to visit now that I am physically capable of climbing large mountains and going on long walks. Unlike my last visit when I would have vomited if I had to climb Mount Brandon (and would have taken many ciggie breaks).
My geezer and me have so far completed the following walks from our North Ulster Walks Guide:
- Portstewart, the Barmouth and River Bann
- Portrush and Dunluce Castle
- Portballintrae and Giant’s causeway
- Giant’s Causeway to Dunseverick Castle
- Dunseverick Castle to Ballintoy Harbour
- Fairhead and Murlough Bay
- Slieveanorra Forest and River Bush
- Glenariff Forest Park
- Dungonnell Dam and Glenariff
We didn’t complete the Castlerock and Gortmore walk as we got a bit lost and wound up scrambling up a slope covered in brambles- so, I can safely say that I won’t be attempting that one again – though I’m sure D woud have carried on by himself, being a lot tougher than I am!
My favourite walk was the Fairhead and Murlough Bay walk – beautiful scenery and also physically challenging.
