Gracie arrived on Wednesday night and has been busy training me since then. I can now pet, play ball and clean wee-wee on her command.

She is a little dog with a fascinating background – she has royal connections on her father’s side. She may not be 100% Jack Russell Terrier but the terrier in her is of a very good pedigree.

Gracie’s father Spike is a pup from a dog that belonged to Camilla Parker Bowles. Spike looks like a combination between a Jack Russell and a Corgi; which would make Gracie 75% Jack Russell and 25% Corgi. Though the vet in Dingle called her a Collie! Silly man!

Spike’s owners say that the dog that he is a pup of was given to Camilla as a gift by Prince Charles when they were having their affair. There is a little bit about this dog at this unofficial site on Royal Dogs. And here is a news article from the time Tigga (Prince Charles’s dog) died a couple of years ago. That would make Tigga Gracie’s Great-Grandfather. Freddy (Camilla’s Dog) would be Gracie’s Grandfather.
