Minibus Wars Part II
We went to Rathlin Island at the weekend and as we had travelled with Ray last time we visited, for free, we queued up for his bus. This time his bus was packed full and he did not have space for a small dog, so we went to the Puffin Tour Bus where there was more than enough space for a small furball (or Four Paws Skywards as we now call her).
The rivalry between Ray and the Puffin Man seems to have increased. Ray’s current method to get one over on the Puffin Man is to have rebranded his bus ‘The Puffin Bus’. Previously Ray’s name was written all over the sides of his bus, now it would seem that he has taken a scraper to his name and erased it, along with a fair amount of the paint on the bus! An addition is a hand written sign in the front window saying ‘The Puffin Bus’.
Ray is an angry man.

i find ure telling the story between ray and the puffin man hugely hilarious. it is funny to see two grown men running and competiting with two tiny buses over in a small island. i visit rathlin every year for atleast two weeks of nothing but sitting in the pub. i go cos …. its were my granny comes from. the interesting fact comes when the puffin man is discovered to be my great uncle (my grannies brother) who were all born and bred on the island including my grandmother. so maybe ray is a liar?!?!? the fact being, ray got red of my uncle as then he would be able to keep all the money for himself. he is not a liked man by islanders :-O :-O an interesting twist to a funny story haha

Interesting! It is much better for people visiting the island to have two buses on the go, relying on one is no fun.
