Parcels

Seems we are badly hit with a consumerist bug this month. Nearly every day a package has arrived at our house. Soon Gracie will be welcoming the arrival of the Parcel Force delivery man like he is a member of our family.

Internet shopping: a blessing and a curse.

I have been buying craft supplies and photography gear. D pointed out that it was rediculous having all these different parcels arrive, so now it is time to mend my ways. And I hope that I will inspire D too! (No more new cars Mister!)

One of his points was the distance that some of the stuff has travelled. I have ordered clothing from US and film from Vienna. I am planning on ordering yarn from New Zealand (as I cannot locate the same stuff locally).

So here is where I change my ways -

I will not buy anything online (apart from our groceries) during the month of September.
I will not buy any new clothing during September (secondhand is okay). I will take inspiration from Wardrobe Refashion.
I will not buy any new yarn during September.

Right, better get busy buying all the stuff I need before the end of the month…

…only joking!

  • Is it a Virgo thing? Lots of parcels arriving here too, sadly none containing bears. However I did get an ancient Simplicity pattern for making Paddington and clothes - all the way from Texas!

  • Must be. Never worry about the bear. Truth be told I think I chucked him myself. He was at Dad’s house and katy and hannah had graffitied him and he was naked. I think I threw him out. I don’t think it was you that disposed of him!!!! But given that you bought him for me I would love to be given a pb by you!

  • Hi Zoe,
This year for your birthday Linda and me are going on holiday. Off for two weeks in Turkey. Dad xxxxx

  • Have fun!
